What size wedding works on a boat
This is the first question to settle, because the right vessel for two people is nothing like the right vessel for a hundred. As a working guide from the charters we know:

What the day actually looks like
Setup is a small miracle of coordination. Decorators, florists, furniture hire and musicians typically have under two hours to transform the vessel before guests arrive, with several teams working at once in a confined space. It looks like controlled chaos. It is completely normal, and a good crew has done it a hundred times.
The typical flow: guests arrive and board, ceremony on the bow with the backdrop behind you, signing, champagne toast, speeches, first dance, food and drink service throughout, cake, dancing, a slow wind down as the vessel returns, disembark.
From the crew side
Yacht crew are not waitstaff. The best have a natural ability to make guests feel as though they own the vessel for the day. They anticipate, they stay out of your photos, and they quietly run the logistics so the two of you can actually enjoy your own wedding.

Standard hire usually includes crew plus a food and beverage package. BYO can bring costs down but not every boat allows it. Weekend minimums in peak season are usually four hours.
Many couples book four to six hours for the wedding, then stay overnight with a handful of guests. Overnight charters start around $20,000 to $30,000 before catering and crew, and can be surprisingly cost effective because the main event offsets the vessel hire.
What works on board (and what does not)
Works beautifully: furniture removal, floral installations, balloons, live musicians, custom styling with vessel approval, even a spa filled with champagne on ice. Fireworks are possible from a separate barge.
Reliably does not: smoke machines and pets. We will save you the disappointment now.
